ASSEMBLY OF NEW TELEPHONE SETS STARTS IN UZBEKISTAN

JSC "Photon" (Tashkent, largest producer of communications electronics equipment) starts assembling telephone sets. Realization of new project started on the enterprise, "Uzeltechsanoat" association's press service reported. "On basis of television production of the enterprise assembly of new products, connected with telephone sets, has started," press service representative noted. To remind, the plant was founded in 1941 on the base of electron devices plant of Fryazino town in Moscow region. Plant produced electronic cash registers, black-and-white and color TV sets, energy-saving lamps, diode-cascade transformers. In December, 1995, enterprise was conversed into joint stock company. In 2001 Russian Fund of social support and military officers protection (Moscow) concluded a contract of purchase of 51% of "Photon" stocks for US $3.5 million, However, bargain was repudiated by Uzbek side because investor did not fulfill financial obligations.
